Real Christian Web Hosts
After spending my money on web hosting companies claiming to be Christian web hosts and learning the hard way that most of them were not what they said they were, I decided that it was time to bring to light those that not only believe in God and Christ as salvation but practice their faith in their business. I also want to identify those that are just after our money. Christian web hosting is no different than secular web hosting: they have servers with hosting software and people to run them. But what is different is their level of honesty and forthright conduct in the name of Christ.
This investigative report of real Christian web hosts and church web hosting providers will undoubtedly upset some. I'm okay with that. In my mind some of the companies that I will expose deserve to be exposed. I do this not because of vengeance or retribution, but because of their lack of honesty. One particular company that I won't name just yet actually told me when challenged that there is no such thing as a real Christian web host. "My paper bag is a Christian paper bag... there's no such thing. There is no such thing as an exclusive Christian web host." This was his reply after presenting him with the facts: that he did not host thousands of web sites as he claimed, that those that he did host were primarily medical supply companies, wheel chair companies, and wine vineyards. He hosted a few churches.
There are thousands of web hosts. Companies like iPower, Hostgator, Powweb and others that pay top dollar to appear at the top of Google and Yahoo results are not church hosting companies. They are secular businesses attempting to syphon customers away from those dedicated to serving their fellow Christians. During our investigation of real Christian web hosting providers we came across one that operated in the United States under at least 5 different names including at least one name registered as a Canadian web site in his wife's name. He listed his address as that of Cybercon, used the address of an expired Florida corporation and a mailbox service and more. I could go on. In part, what makes a person like this dishonest is that they have one set of Terms of Service for their secular business permitting adult content, and another Terms of Service for their Christian hosting service. Just because someone goes to church doesn't make their business a Christian business.
One of the top listed church web site hosts in Google is actually owned by multi-million dollar a year company with a consistently poor consumer rating, Jumpline! It wouldn't be quite so bad if they just said right up front, "We're really Jumpline."
The blog section of this site is divided into two simple categories, real Christian web site hosting companies, and fake church hosting companies. Please feel free to comment as you feel and believe and you will not be censored.
